Headspace provide the app subscription to all the members, athletes and coaches of Major League Soccer and US Soccer to increase their focus and concentration in sports with the help of meditation.
One of the globe’s leading mindfulness and meditation apps, Headspace will soon get new partners. US Soccer and Major League Soccer have announced a three years partnership with Headspace, according to which Headspace will conduct a one-on-one introductory training session with the coaches and athletes of US Soccer and Major League Soccer. This session would be conducted by Headspace’s Sports and Fitness Head Lindsay Shaffer and its Co-Founder Andy Puddicombe. This training session would particularly be held during various events organized by Major League Soccer and in the course of US Women and Men’s national team training camps.
While talking on this occasion CEO of Major League Soccer, Dr. Margot Putukian said, “Major League Soccer always make sure to provide advanced technology to improve the overall wellness of our staff members, athletes and coaches.” (Source) Dr. Putukian further explained that the meditation training that will be provided by Headspace app would be a great supplement in addition to the wellness and health resources that her club has already provided to their members.
“We are looking forward that the members of soccer community will utilize the Headspace app to improve their mindfulness skills to achieve their goals both in professional as well as in their personal lives,” Dr. Putukian stated.
Headspace to Strengthen Meditational Skills of Soccer League Members
With the announcement of this partnership, Headspace will henceforth provide the app subscription to all the members, athletes and coaches of Major League Soccer and US Soccer to increase their focus and concentration in sports with the help of meditation. Both the club and the league have committed to provide total wellness to the athletes with the best resources in training mental skills.
Headspace along with US Soccer and Major League Soccer will also explore new research opportunities in a scientific way regarding the advantages of mindfulness and meditation, which will enhance athletes’ performance. Apart from this, the coaching staff and athletes will get special access to the library of Headspace which is particularly designed to boost their meditational skills with the help of 10- sessions such as analysis and recovery, motivation, communication, concentration, competition, and training.
